Route Advice Brentwood - Central London

Hi folks,

I live in Brentwood, looking to start commuting into Central London once or twice a week. Most route planners suggest the A12, which having viewed on google, doesn't look cycle safe, especially considering the start/end of the journeys will be in half light - darkness.

Does anyone have experience on this route, or nearby routes and can offer some alternative routes that might be a little less of a white knuckle ride?

Depending on where in London you're heading for.

Anywhere City-ish I'd go with something like this (assuing weekday mornings/heavy traffic) to prioritise getting to the CS3 and the Greenway.

For a nicer ride but slightly hillier, something like this. Crossing the North Circ. is always a bit of a pain so doing it this way, through Woodford is about as easy as you can get it to be.
