Hello there,

I am looking at getting a new set of wheel from rose in germany. Firstly I was wondering if anyone on here has had any or has any opinion on them, they would be the cheaper ones from the trekking section, deore hubs with xtreme airline rims 36h, Im not sure how to post a link unfortunatley.

The other reason I ask, Im currently using a 7 speed freewheel. Is it a simple job of putting a new casette with spacers onto the new wheel, replacing the chain and off I go? Or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance

Have you searched the forum, I'm pretty sure they've been discussed before.

I think if your new wheels have a cassette hub it is I think a simple job of 7 speed cassette but if your using an old wheel with free hub, its not compatible with a cassette. I've never changed from freehub to cassette hub though so there nay be a work around.

Here there's something that might interest you about rose wheels

If you have a 7speed cassette with a spacer already fitted then you can just swap cassettes but if there is no spacer then my guess is that it is an old bike with 126mm dropouts.

Thanks for the answers guys, the link was helpful.

I had searched, but it didnt bring anything up. I thought I had read something on here about it.

The new wheels are cassette hub, my old wheels were screw on freewheel. Im thinking ill just put an 8spd on and limit it to skip the biggest cog.

The dropouts are 135mm.
