Up until 48 hours ago, I confess I'd never heard of Rose Bikes ... I'm considering treating myself to one.

Has anybody ridden one/own one? Please let me have your thoughts/comments ... both good and not so good.

Thanks in anticipation

I would say go for it, whenever I have had dealings with a German [I used to live there] company it has been a pleasant and efficient experience. I have Rose bikes on my favourites list though not used them yet.

I read a review on one of their MTBs that suggested they were "nearly, but not quite" I'll see if I can dig it up. They certainly look nice, and the website's a great browse.

The only negative review I could find was the 2010 Granite chief, so if you are looking for a 140mm bouncer, make sure you get the updated 2011 or later version with the Fox RP23 shock......

I have bought obscure bits for my bike from Rose that were not available elsewhere; I think that their customer service is excellent.

I've used them several times for components.
They have once sent me the wrong item - but their returns service is very well set up.
Never tried one of their bikes though.

No experience of Rose bikes, but as for German manufacturers, +1

I've had 3 Focus bikes, a CF MTB, a CF Road and a CX bike. All three framesets were very well made and finished. I did have a very slight issue with the MTB & Road frames, (after about 2 years each), and they replaced both frames without any issues

Thanks for the info, to date ... it's still on the wish list ... final call for anybody who owns a Rose carbon road bike, how does it handle?

Although my bike is a Cube, when my wife decided to buy a road bike she went for a Rose. Less than £1k and just over 7kg, aluminium with Apex components, the bike and the service from Rose have been great. It took around 6 weeks for delivery but we knew this when we placed the order.

Can't recommend Rose highly enough.
