OK here goes. I am rebuilding a Ron Kitching frame from the 70s. The question is do I go with band on shifters, as the frame has no shifter bosses or do I drill the frame and put on the screw on type bosses.
I don't want to weaken the frame and ruin it, sinc dive owned this frame since 1979.
Any opinions out there would help.

Cheers

I know it has to be band on down tube. I keep bidding on Campagnolo shifters on flebay but keep getting out bid. I'm just a tight arse really.

Two points. 1) Vintage Campag downtube shifters are relatively inexpensive and therefore good value compared to the downtube cable stops. 2) You can practically rely on these things being an "investment" - chance is price will double in say 5 years - it did.
