So I'm looking at getting a little something for week night training and that will also help me in the hills ( my Achilles heel )

Because I've used a tacx I magic before I thought that would be perfect for the hills

But then I've heard good things about rollers too

So, what's best for help with hills that will get 45-60 mins use per session ?

Thanks

If you have the budget then I would say either the Tacx Fortius or the new Genius. I have found time flies on the Fortius, can easily spend a couple of hours on it doing a classic climb compared with being bored ~~~~less on an exercise bike.

Neither, I think the only way to train for hills is to ride them but not everybody has time or access to them unfortunately, especially mid week. I've not had roller but I think the turbo maybe helps as you can rack up its resistance so at least you are having to work harder as you would on a hill. As an aside I think rollers offer a more realistic ride (albeit one with less resistance, some roller have a resistance unit but I don't think its extreme) and you have to concentrate, hence why I've got a turbo because my mind can wonder

+1. Plenty of hill training where I am but the weather sometimes beats us.:cursing: I'm loving the turbo as I find it more challenging than Mr Bannatynes run of the mill spin classes....time will tell how effective it is! No rain tomorrow between 8.30 and 12 here so am off up yonder hills!;)

Rollers work fine, a bit of resistance and you have to concentrate, but a bit more of a challenge than a turbo trainer, takes a few goes to get used to them, no messing changing wheels or tyres, just put the bike straight on to the rollers,
