Rollers and tyres

Just ordered a set of rollers for indoor training in bad weather, do they eat up tyres in the same way that turbo trainers do, is it advisable to use a training tyre ?

No, they don't do the same. Mainly because the contact patch is double that on a turbo trainer and, there is no resistance, so no shear inside the tyre.
