Given that boredom is a problem with most indoor cycling (although possibly roller riding requires more concentration and thus produces more excitment than a turbo) as hard as possible might be a pragmatic answer as you'll give up after 10minutes of moderate effort, so you may as well get the max while you're on them
do a pyramid sesion . 15 secs on, 15 off, 30 on, 30 off, 45 on, 45 off, 1minute on , 1 minute off, 45 secs on, 45 off, 30 on, 30 off, 15 on rest for 10 minutes then do it again. thats one of the best sessions you can do
