Hi,

Bought a Felt Q920 bike in mid Oct and just noticed today that the lockout function does nothing(should activate when I turn the blue toggle on the rh fork top) Is this a fault or am I missing something?

Suppose I will have to return it to the shop for attention, but didn't want to look a fool if it is something I am failling to do. Any ideas?

Otherwise though, love the bike

Hi Dave, welcome :0)

I could be wrong, but I think I read somewhere about it taking a little time for the lockout to work, that is it's not until the oil is worked through it or something. Or if the oil is low it won't work. I'm really not sure although on the other hand I don't think the Tora is the most reliable fork Rockshox have ever built. Mine needed a new rebound damper after approximately no miles at all.

I'd phone the shop, it's still under warranty.

Thanks for the replies, I'll call Evans today. Hope I won't be without the bike for ages. Seems the forks must be duff, the rebound damper isn't doing anything either - Boo Hoo

haha, aint it sad that a 46yo bloke feels like a 5yo having his Christmas present taken away

Just for info, I'll post the outcome

Not being funny, but have you read the manual?

On rockshox forks the lockout is not designed to totally lock up the fork. It just makes it very super stiff (you will still be able to move the shock up and down a bit, but not as easily if the fork was unlocked). The reason being that if you hit the fork hard with a big bump, the fork is not damaged. There are plenty of you tube videos that demonstrate the fork in action - as well as the manual explanation of course!

Hi all, spoken to the store, they confirm there have been some recently with a problem and they just require new cartridges, they have the parts in stock and I can take it in next Wed - Sweet. Monst, there's deff a problem with the forks, I hear what you say about them becoming stiffer on lockout, but there is no discernable difference between locked and unlocked at the mo (although when I first got the bike it did work ok)
Here's hoping for a same-day fix

ok, I was a bit delayed taking it in, but they have the cartridges now and dropped it off today and will get the bike back tomorrow, hopefully issue solved.

Hi all, got my bike back yesterday and all seems A1 (took it round Gisburn Forest a couple of laps today) - big thanks to Evans for sorting it no problem
