I might be buying a bike this weekend with road pedals on, should I go out ASAP and buy some road shoes or should I just chuck my spds on it......

If I do buy new shoes and recommendations to be cheapish and suit a white bike with blue trim?

If got pedals already and your already used to them. Take the original off and put yours.

I do that for all new bikes I get. I went head first with spd-sl pedals. And purchased R077 (shimano)

Unless you are racing, I would suggest staying with spd type shoes & pedals, something like the shimano M077 shoe as they look a bit like road shoes and will not look out of place, but are easier to walk in.

Oh I have spds already, it's that this bike comes with road type pedals spd-sl/look or something (not seeing it till sat)

I'm worried that black shoes on a white bike is a serious rule breach

Black shorts (only option ever) and I mix and match red and black jerseys. Also I want to move up to the faster groups without being shunned, I already know way too many triathletes to be confident with my rule adhearance....

really I thought you matched shoes to the bike, so I was thinking white shoes with blue or red trim (blue is dead hard to find) and maybe a new helmet too in white with matching trim. Bike is white with blue details, cages and tape, saddle white with blue trim. Will make the decision on Sat after I decide if I want the bike....
