Some years back I wrote a Poem about cycling; and the dangers we face on the UK roads, it was published back in 1993, by the then RSA. I will share it with you below; and maybe someone could ad a poem to this thread, that would express their feelings on road safety for cyclists.

Out on the highway riding my bike
Wearing a helmet and clothing that's bright
With feet strapped in toe-clips and gloves on my hands
I'm off on a journey I'd previously planned
I'm fully insured; and I've made out a Will
As I'm sure some drivers have a licence to kill
One by one they go wizzing by
They haven't a care for you or I
You know the type
You've seen them drive
This makes you wonder how your still alive
The highway to travel is better by far
Than the highway to heaven when your under a car
So when you see a cyclist remember this ode
Please give them some room as you pass on the road
Show that you care! please hear my plea;
As the man on the bike is possibly Me.
