Road bike crank / shifter help needed

I've got a triple tiagra sti shifter but only a double crank. Can I use these together by adjusting the limit screws on the front derailleur?
I do have a 2300 double sti if not

Should work ok. The limit screws may not need adjusting as the shifter could only function as far as the outer chain ring.

I'll have a look at putting the bike together this week then and see how they go.
