Looking for a road bike with a few criteria:

Internal cable routing ideal
Minimum Tiagra or 105 Spec
Frame looks good
Below 9kg

Ideas so far:

Giant Defy1
Ribble Ultralight
Planet X Pro Carbon
Canyon Endurance 5.0
Merida Ride 500 (ultegra!)
BTWIN Ultra 700
GIANT TCX SLR 2
Cube Attain Race

Or do I wait until the sales/more of the sales come in?

Cheers!
Matthew

Hello Matthew.
I have 20 month old PX Pro carbon in white for sale.
Medium size
Full 10sp 105
Mavic Aksium wheelset.
There is an add on here somewhere for it. But your interested I'll put a pic.
Going now for £300 plus p&p
If you're not interested, no problem; just a thought.
Cheers
EDIT: Just to add the frame is in "as new" condition, as is the rest of the bike.
It has external cable routing.

Below 9kg in what frame size, and who's word will you be taking as to the weight considering there is no universal standard (some manufacturers quote small sizes only, some ready to ride, some without pedals and/or tyres, and some won't quote at all because it's largely an irrelevence)?

Would be in a large or whatever the equivalent size is (56?)
Cheers

I rode it at the top end of the seatpost height and I am 6ft also-32" inside leg.
A large would suit you, but medium does too. Just depends what sort of ride you're after.
Obviously the medium makes you lower down on the bars and the large gives a slightly more comfy feel.
I suggest you maybe go and sit on a few bikes and see what feels good.
If you want to take a chance with this, it's always here.
Thanks for the reply and good luck with the search mate.

I would wait for a couple of monthS (or longer if you can hold your nerve) and see what bargains are in the end of season sales.
If you want a bargain on a new bike, this is good advice.

Thanks very much! How long would you say it would be until the bike sales? Giant Defy 0 2016 is down at the moment to £798 from £1000
Want something thats race and sportive suitable/ready while still having a little comfort, want the quickest bike I can get!

That will likely be the sale price, stocks run out once the prices come down and the stocks are cleared for the new models

You might get a bargain, by which time it'll be winter and you may miss the rest of the better weather, for the sake of £50-100?

Start cycles in Newcastle have a good rep I think

The best deals are often online but you miss out on after sales IMO

You said before you don't like roadbikes, what's changed your mind?

Thanks Vickster, yes been there and good (how do you know that?) Going to the Giant store just outside of Newcastle
Want to be a bit quicker and the only way to do that is more aero! (fit as it is and cant lose much more weight) so a bike upgrade is needed!
Did a 60 mile sportive route on the boardman hybrid the other day and it wasnt nice/easy with strong wind, just think id be better suited to a road bike due to the rides I do and id be quicker!
Going to be doing a few more sportives (and with friends that have full carbon £1500 bikes I need a bike that will be near enough as quick, fitter then them all so just need a bike 7/10ths as good!)
Reckon I can hit an average of around 20mph on my usual 20 mile route (currently at 18mph on the hybrid) and want to be around the 17mph mark on sportives etc (which would be very difficult on a bottom of the range boardman hybrid!)
