The Met Office has just posted the weather forecast for Sunday. What a shame. Hope they are wrong.

it was a great ride - challenging but beautiful route, great organisation and food, and perfect weather - couldn't ask for more

As Colin has put - I'm also very jealous. I was supposed to do this but couldn't make it, many times during that day I shook my head as it was perfect weather for it. I heard it was reduced to seventy odd miles instead, was that true?

Yes. 73 miles, 126 km. due to a road closure.

We were notified of a road closure in the run up to the event and then altered the route. If I'm honest I preferred the shorter route so I stuck with that. The road in question didn't look closed on the day although I didn't have the time to drive all the way up it and check.

Any yes, the food was amazing!!!

I would have preferred the shorter route in light of a few weeks off the bike and the evenings getting darker earlier. Sounded like a great event, hopefully I can do this next year - bring the weather again!
