[ OK, it's a health issue primarily about commuting, I'm really not sure which of the two forums is more appropriate ]
It was in the news last summer but I must have missed it at the time: "according to a study", cyclists in cities are, apparently, inhaling about 4 to 5 times as many Dangerous Nanoparticles(sic) as car passengers
The Times gloated about it
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/article7140213.ece
and the European Commission took a slightly more informative approach
http://ec.europa.eu/environment/integration/research/newsalert/pdf/204na6.pdf
Anyone got any particular thoughts on this, or know of subsequent research? It sounds like the workarounds are "don't sprint when sucking on an exhaust" and/or "choose quieter routes"
