Wouldn't normally post this kind of thing but this guy's life deserves notice. The UK MTB and CX scene would be poorer without him for sure.

Oh, that's a shame. Still, he enjoyed a long and fascinating cycling life before the heart problems finally got him.

He used to own a bike shop round the corner from my sister's house in Coventry. I went in there a few times and bought bits and bobs from him.

Wasn't there a story about him that he was on a training ride and his frame broke. His dad came out with his spare bike so he could finish his ride.

I used to call on him in the early 1980s when I was selling stuff into the cycle trade. Nice chap. Always made me a cuppa.
