No doubt being done in the politics bit, but since we don't all visit, a tribute thread out here too.

A terrible and senseless killing whether the reported words of the killer are right or not.

Her husbands words show a man and family of tremendous dignity and common sense.

Genuine heartfelt condolences to him, their children, wider family and all who knew her.

Birstall is where I grew up. I spent the first 25 years of my life there. My mum still lives there. Her flat is less than 200 yards from the crime scene. I've spent all afternoon watching the coverage in shock and disbelief whilst seeing my mum's bloody building in the middle distance.

I moved away from Birstall but Jo Cox was still my MP. I voted for her. She was a committed and conscientious public servant. Parliament needs more people like her, not fewer. This has been a terribly sad day. I'll be laying flowers at the weekend in her memory.

My thoughts are with Brendan and the children. RIP Jo.

I went to Birstall market place an hour or so ago (Friday evening) to lay some flowers and pay my respects. The rain was like stair rods at one point but it didn't seem to deter people. Much love being shown.
