:welcome: to the forum.

I remember those, top rim back in the day. Bit of a longshot finding one in good condition now but I wish you luck.

Rufus, welcome to Cycle Chat. Good luck with the search.

Apologies in advance if you’ve already done the following but I think you are going to need a lot of patience and spread your search as far as possible.

Are you UK based? If so there is here and retrobike.co.uk where you can look.
http://hilarystone.com/rims700.html is also a good place to look.

Looking further afield subito.it is the main Italian 2nd hand website. And you can easily search Fiamme and legnano. The question will be whether the seller is willing to post to where you are.

On Facebook there are a number of groups that might be able to help some public some you have to sign up to. Search using Italian Vintage Seel bike steel is real etc throws up these and more.

Locally to you there may also be bike Jumbles or other enthusiast sales.

Most importantly can you post some photos of the restoration in,progress, it ou le be great to see a 53 Roma^_^

Hi. Long time and only just seen the post, but are you still looking? If you are, let me know as I believe I have exactly what you are after and will add a photo. Just the rounded rim with eyelets all in very good condition. Has an original fairly unused Mitte tube stuck on it (presumably to keep the pair together).
If you are still looking, I am after two rims, front and rear but not tubeless, needed for a 1946/8 Merlin rebuild. As I understand, the originals rims to the hubs I have may have been wood/bamboo, but want to replace with anything decent, aluminium/alloy and pre 70s if possible. I want the Merlin to be useable, safe and still reasonably vintage.

Hi Rufus, Neil here. I am a new joiner and also restoring a vintage bike (passion, not trade). I have lots of vintage spares and I believe I have the rim you are looking for in very good condition. If you are still active on this forum, give a reply.
