So, I thought that all rims were drilled so that every other hole slightly faced in one direction (to the left) and all the other holes faced in the other direction (to the right) so that spokes from one side of the hub go in one set of holes and spokes from the other flange go in the other set of holes.

Just went to build some wheels using Rigida sputnik rims and all the holes are straight down the centre??? Is this correct; or am I missing subtle differences?

Some rim holes are aimed at the flange, some aren't. Yours aren't. No biggy.

thanks for the comments - I've had another look and I think (and my mate agrees) that there is about a 1mm (or less) difference each side (but our eyes could be playing tricks)
