Hi all

Just installed my continental travel contact tyres on my bike and am wondering if they are on the right way?

Sounds daft I know but with no rotational arrow I can't tell for sure.

Will it actually make any difference to my ride as they are semi-slick anyway? Can it affect braking?

All help appreichiated folks

It won't make a difference. The pattern is only there for show unless they're MTB tyres.

In that case, why do some tyres have directional tread? Good case in point is the Schwalbe Marathon.

Even the Kenda's on my trailer have a directional arrow on them.

Or to annoy those that worry about it .. when they realise they've just put the b****y thing on the wrong way round.

Thanks for all the info folks (and the jedi help! xx()

Just to clear up the issue of the tyre - it is sort of a mtb tyre I suppose because it has knobbles on the outer rim.

The slick centre has a design shape and grooves (as mentioned previously - wouldn't of thought it does anything) and had no reply back from Continental so looks like I'll just have to try it.

Can't do much harm? I'll give them a 10 miler and see how they perform under braking, cornering etc.
