I took a fall today round a roundabout & my bike slid from under me. Landed heavily on the right side & now have a bent gear/brake lever.

1. How easy would it be to set it square again?
2. Do I need to unwrap the bar tape to reset it?

I hope to get a pic of it up asap

If it's just not straight with respect to the handlebar, hoik it back the other way. It should move fairly easily. If it doesn't, there's generally a Big Hex Head bolt inside. Access this by pulling on the brake lever, as if you were stopping, and get in there with an allen key. Loosen it a smidgeon, straighten and re-tighten. You shouldn't need to faff around with the bar tape.

That's all sorted, thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately I think I have damaged the rear derailleur as riding home it's slipping in & out of the gears & I'm now missing top gear looks like a trip to LBS as I don't have the time to sort it out myself

I've got a feeling it is but tbh I couldn't confidently say yes it is. Here's a few pics if it will help

It does look like it could be off centre. However, the slipping gears could be caused by stretched gear cable from shifting your brifter.
