As long as I breathe, I attack.
I have been advised by the consultant to have fusion of the right mcp thumb joint as the arthritis in the joint is painful and i already have reduced movement on the joint .
Has anyone had a similar treatment and how did you manage to ride? already finding i prefer sram shitfers to shimano as you only change gear with the fingers and dont need as much of a motion on the wrist as i also have tendonitis in the tumb / wrist which they will be operating on too to relieve the area .
piccie of the sort of thing i will have done

My wife had her ankle fused in 2019 and the arthritis was removed too, the operation was carried out under local anaesthetic. Since then she can out walk and out ride me anytime. She is so pleased that she chose Fusion rather than a new joint which may have had to be renewed at a later date.

since posting i think the issue is more the tendonitis in the wrist which is being sorted too, the only way i would get electronic shifting is if somone donated me some ;)

Just wait for another cycle shop to go into administration... 😔
