Do you all still go out when it's chucking it down? It's raining here now and when I get home I still fancy going out but it will depend if the kids want to come out too as wife is out tonight.

Didn't realise someone had done a similar thread today ...an update I phoned my 15 year old son who I thought would say no to a ride and who hasn't been on one with me yet and he's up for it my younger son is at boxing but I already know he will go and will moan at me if I don't lol

It's uncomfortable (hot & sticky) plus if the rain is heavy it ups the risk factor (motorists not seeing me) too much for me. Roads get slippery too.

Utter misery.

This. A much forgotten factor. Some of those blind motons out there cannot see a bike in "good" daylight conditions; so what hope when they are peering through a misted windscreen because they are clueless as to how the de-misting system works.
 
yep - don't really bother me much. Find drivers tend to be more considerate the harder the rain is.
Guess it comes from years of cycle commuting and then 12 months on tour. If it rained you still carried on, though I will happily admit to being really grateful that I got home in the dry today (but 2 towels were next to the front door just in case!)
