Hi Louise.
Nice bike, I just had alook at the web site for Ridge back. It is a fast street racer, For commuting or perhaps courier work. Ridge back seem to try and cover as many angles as possible by then saying you could put nobbly tyres on and go off road as well if you want. Think about why you need the bike and what you will be usingit for? If you want to go hurtling around the streets, bumping up kerbs then fine, but if you just want a nice sedate ride to work then get a hybrid or a touring bike.
Or indeed if off roading is your thing then go for an all out Mountain bike!
Or possibly you just want something to look good on, Well I reckon it would definatley tick that box!

Its more for hurtling around around the countryside on my (rare) days off. I recently committed social suicide and signed up for a grad diploma which is 16 hours a week while remaining at work full time so it will be ideal for giving me a break from studying etc. Also its on the advise of doc up at the hospital who operated on my shoulder, he said it was an ideal way to strengthen it.
I have had a good look at the website and decided to go for a ridgeback Speed, had originally decided on Giant expression DX w but it seems more aimed for commutors.

Yikes!!! 16 hours a week and working full time? You do need a fast bike!
What did you do to your shoulder?
I have various ailments in the muscle/cartilage area that cycling seems to aggravate .
