Ridge Back bikes - any good?

Mrs Sapper and I went bike hunting for her yesterday visiting two LBS.

One suggested a Ridgeback Hybrid; the "Velocity"..

Any comments about Ridgeback in general or the bike?

Mrs Sapper's intent is a mixture of Sunday morning rides together with some commuting specifically in the summer; she is a teacher.

Last Wednesday I went for a ride around Loch Rannoch with my friend Alan. He rode a lady's Ridgeback, complete with wicker basket, for the full 50 miles. Oh, and he rode it in carpet slippers. I was impressed, very impressed.

I've got a "motion" which is one of their cheaper hybrids which has been great.
