Rides for children

I am looking for some rides to do in 2014 with my 8 year old on our road bikes. I did plan on booking the Manchester to Liverpool with Bike Events though it doesn't appear they are running it in 2014.

Does anyone know of others around the North West area? we are actually based in Littleborough. My son did the Manchester to Liverpool with me last year albeit on one of those rear frames attached to my mountain bike, this year he wants a road bike and wants to do an event with me....

I take part in some of these with my 7yr old, abet we only do the short routes, the're well organised and you get a medal when you finish, something the boy loves

Evans cycles do one in Rochdale in Jan , and one in Leeds in March , always well run and signed

Bike Events are doing the Manchester - Chester next year but over 50miles

and there is always the over the edge - this is 2013 but it will be very similar

I did the Leukaemia & Lymphoma ride this year with my 9yo; 26 miles but there's also a 12 mile version. The link's to the Wakefield version but there's others on the list including in the NW.

Well recommended for children to take part in.
