RideIt events?

Anyone ever been on one of these events? what was it like?

I'm wondering if they close the roads for it too? Or whether you still have to dodge traffic?

I'm not sure they close many roads for the London to Brighton so they aren't likely to get away with it for a few Evans rides! You don't have to dodge traffic - just ride conscious of where it is.

Mmm ok, there should be a fair amount of people so if I keep up it should be ok me thinks.

Good question actually - I've thought of doing some of the "Ride It" events but no idea how well subscribed they are.

I done one last year and it was a good day all round. Also i am going to do another one this year.

No closed roads or anything then? I've heard there's free samples of SIS products, any good?

Not bad for the energy side. Plus this year there are Gore clothing centres where you can pick up clothing to wear during the ride and hand it back for washing afterwards.

Ah cool cool, decided to sign up for the Nottingham ride anyway. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up by then.

They're well organised, well attended, with a good mix of riders. They usually have a 'try a bike scheme', but you need to get in early. I've enjoyed the ones I've done.

Yeah, you've got to be there on the crow of dawn (8am) for the "try a bike". they also must be pre booked and I understand they cost about £35 which is refunded as a voucher to use against the purchase of bike from Evans.

Yeah just read that, I'll just use whatever bike I have at the time tbh. Even if a 200ft climb on my Steel would about kill me.
