Sounds terrible. Probably cold comfort to the cyclist, but I hope the police get the information they are looking for but without wishing to be flippant, you could almost write the drivers defence for him. SMIDSY

Well if a car was involved the driver appears to have left the scene so things won't be shrugged off that easily.
