I was in Birmingham on Monday and came across the Ribble showroom in The Mailbox. I didn't know it was there and had a good look around. The Gran Fondo looks like a very nice bike with decent spec and at a reasonable price.

I know Ribble is an old bike company but I would be interested to hear of any views as to their customer service and bikes, especially the Gran Fondo.......

Thanks.

Bikes are on the whole fine.
Customer service is "legendary".... but not in a good way, when things go wrong, they really don't give a stuff.

Personally I'd never buy anything major from Ribble; I'd maybe risk it for clothes/tools etc where the possibility needing an urgent resolution to any issue was minimal, but not a bike.

I've a Gran Fondo with Di2 and am well pleased with it, it's my 2nd Ribble have not had any issues with buying bikes from them.

Thanks for the reply.... I was speccing up a Gran Fondo with Di2 and was surprised at how good value it seems compared to other brands, e.g. my LBS could do me an Orbea Orca with Di2 for £2500, but that doesn't come with full Ultegra in that it has an FSA crankset. How do you go on for servicing etc? Do you use your LBS?

I've never been a fan having tried one a couple of years ago, but the range has had a redesign so my opinion is outdated. Certainly can't deny the velue, and the way you can mix and match frames and spec.

Had a few ribbles over the years and can't fault them.Really regret getting rid of my ribble audux(blue one !) .I probally couldn't go for a ride in these parts without seeing a ribble of some sorts,I guess that speaks for itself.

Yep i use a shop near me who are all clued up on Shimano Di2 and they updated the firmware for me recently

I've had my Gran Fondo for a couple of years now, it's the ultegra version and it's been brilliant. Never had to contact customer services so can't comment on that.

I recently bought a few components from Ribble and one on them was the wrong size. I phoned them and they said it was their error (true!), put the correct one in the post immediately, emailed me a free returns label and told me to the send the wrong one back at my convenience. The correct item arrived the next day. All of the people I was in contact with were friendly and competent. I'll definitely continue to use Ribble
