Thinking of buying bike from Ribble, any advice and how did you get on with bike builder etc

Watch the sizing. The seat tube size can be misleading. It's better to go on the top tube size.
The short head tube makes for very low bars so arrange for far more spacers than you normal would too.

+1. Ribble have their own sizing system. They ask you if its Horiz' or sloping and measure C/top.
Read their sizing instructions very carefully.

I opted against Ribble. I wouldn't buy a bike which I couldn't stand over before I handed over the cash.

I got a Dawes Giro 500 mail order, but I went to a shop in Coventry first to see one in the flesh.

Ribble do some good deals, and IF I did buy one, I'd take the trip to see them first.

The special edition bikes offer a big discount, and are worth opting for if they are close to the spec you want - compare the price for same spec with their bikebuilder facility. I made a long journey to have a look at their bikes and get measured in the shop - well worth it. But contact them first if you have a long way to travel as the shop can get very busy I hear. Bought a 7005SL Veloce - no problems, well satisfied and no hassle. The new carbon 'Sportive' looks good value, and very tempting..... Also they do a very helpful 'cheque spread' payment scheme.

When you go on the BikeBuilder site, open a spreadsheet and tot up the weights as you go.

Or not, 'cus you will go back and re-spec the bike to knock off a couple of hundred grams, and consequently, put the price up.

I went down to the shop last month to get measured up for one of their road bikes. Guy in the shop was really helpful and spent quite a bit of time with me discussing exactly what it was I was after. I ended up specing up a bike through the bike builder site whilst I was in the shop. Got the bike exactly 2 weeks later, and I'm absolutely delighted with it.
Given the service, product & price you'll have to go a long way to beat it....
