Retro mountain bike stems.

I’ve seen some cool old mountain bikes for sale cheap. The old quill stem puts me off though. Can you change these to a modern stem?

Now't wrong with quill stems. PS you'll still need to keep the headset though. I have that very headset on my commuter and parts are getting hard to get, although I've a few sets of spare cartridge bearings.
