Replacing SunRace gear shifter cable

Does anyone know how to replace the gear cable in a SunRace M50 gear shifter? I've taken all the little screws out I can, and I still can't get at it.

If it's like the one I once had, you can't get them apart without wrecking them.
Is it a bit cheap and nasty?

how did you get on with that I have the SUNRACE R80 and they look pretty cheap. The crimp popped off the other cable end when I did the gears last night and it started unravelling so its only a matter of time
