If you wish to wear a helmet, I would suggest you favour comfort on your head over any other consideration and wear it until you find one sufficiently more comfortable as to be worth the outlay on replacement. As technology is always, so we are 'advised' improving, what is the wisdom on how often, if at all, one should replace a bash hat to ensure you have the safest type going - ?
Is there a way to do this?As soon as someone makes one that demonstrably can be proven to save lives and prevent serious injury, then we should all trade up to it. Until then carry on as you are.
Is there a way to do this?
I still wear mine that saved a nasty head injury for me a couple of years ago, it has a bit of a bash in it but is mostly intact. Without it I would like had a big hole in my head and a cracked skull so it probably didn't save my life but likely did stop some hurt. Will get a new one in the not too distant future.
You probably fell off whilst adjusting said Y-fronts as were so uncomfortable under your bib shorts!I fell off some years back and hit my head. My skull didn't crack due to my lucky Y fronts, the beige ones with the brown trim.
You may as well attribute the lack of an injury to the tooth fairy as to a cycle helmet as we know them currently.
