My Garmin (Edge 605) has been a bit flaky lately on battery life and instead of the 10 hours I used to get it is now cutting out after around 4.
Have seen the 'how to' guide regards changing the battery but was wondering if it really is as easy as it looks, and whether to get an Ebay special for around £10 or can anyone recommend something better?

Cheers.

I was about to yeah-wouldn't charge on new year's eve but seems ok at the moment.

I was going to buy one of the £12 jobbies off Amazon. The reviews seems to say that the battery is just held in place by some double sided tape and you just need to be careful with the rubber seal when replacing.

I have some very small torx screwdrivers if you need any.

I still owe you a tenner BTW:rolleyes::blush:

Mine is charging Ok and is fine for day to day use but won't last long enough for any decent length rides.
Cut out yesterday after 30 miles and before that had been bleeping 'low battery' at me for a while despite being fully charged when I set off, weirdly I turned it back on and it managed another 13 miles to the end of the ride OK :scratch:

The guide I read mentioned 2 connectors that you had to unplug once you'd carefully prised the back off, then the battery itself needs freeing from the double-sided tape, before replacing and resealing.
Will probably get one and give it a go (or upgrade to a Garmin 800) :whistle:

Just give Garmin a call and see what they suggest.

Well I ignored Ian's advice and went to the giant jumble sale that is Ebay and bought myself a replacement, just fitted it now and fired it up, all appears to be well :thumbsup:
Will see how it performs over the next few days before I buy myself an 800 :whistle:
