have let my pads wear down far too much. When fitting new pads do I need to push the Pistons back in to calipers? New pads don't seem to want to go in the gap, hope that makes sense, sorry if it's been asked before and thanks for any answers.

Yes. Use a strong plastic tyre lever or similar. Don't use a metal tool. You can chip or cream the ceramic pistons otherwise

Also avoid pushing the pistons back in at an angle if you can. Try to push them back in square, or incrementally nudge them opposite sides.

I push my pistons back with the old pads and a persuasion device, then put new ones in.

Nothing but the pad backing touches the pistons
