I need to replace my Tiagra rear mech on my Specialized Sirrus and want some lower gears. So I need a new chain, a 11 - 32 back block and a rear mech. I would like similar quality if not better than the original items. What would the team recommend? Oh yes, pennies are in short supply in the Beatlejuice household at the moment!

Imho, for 25 notes you could do a lot worse than this.

Thanks RecordAceFromNew that looks as if it will do and the price is right! Another question please, would a Shimano
Shimano HG73 Chain and CS-HG50 9-speed Cassette work well with it?

I prefer SRAM chains the Powerlink is a better joining solution than the Shimano pin in my opinion. I'd suggest an 11-34 cassette rather than an 11-32, I find the top gear is a half step 12 to 11 on the latter where the steps are equal, well more equal, all the way up the 11-34.

I would avoid Shimano chain, kmc or sram are much better.

For cassettes I would also prefer sram to any low/mid range Shimano ones, this would be a reasonable choice.

Thanks RecordAceFromNew. The new rear mech and a long quill stem brought from two independent suppliers from fleebay have arrived within days, which for this time of year is good. However Chainreaction still haven't got my may block and chain to me yet.
