I've noticed that a screw has fallen out of one of my shoes and therefore require some replacement screws!

I searched the forums and found a similar thread but I was a bit lost regarding what I should buy. Can anyone advise me on what exactly I need? Just to make clear, I've lost one screw as well as the metal oblong in which it sits. No wonder it was an irritating ride home...

Anyone? I'd really like to go out riding again! I'm just too scared to buy something...

Or extract another one and take it to a builders merchants or such like (Not Wickes) as they are probably a standard screw (the pins in my dmr v8s are just standard grub screws for instance)

Hmm ignore that as the heads are apparently non standard

Cheers Cubist!

Do you think that it'll matter that I've lost the oblong piece of metal that goes with the screw?

It'll need a washer of some sort for it to seat properly. Is there a friendly screw/bolt/ fixing company you could nip into? They generally have something that would sort it out.

There are a few hardware shops nearby. I'll ask around!

Strange.

I have the same pedals (looking somewhat worn after a year due to the plastic platform, i should stick in the 105s)
and shoes which i've just replaced as the heel wedges have worn through and the cleat on the unclipping foot was waffer thin after 16 months and er 1900 miles on them and never had trouble with the screws coming out (unlike the aldi spd mountain bike style ones.
You sure you're tightening them enough ?

Have you a pic of the particular fixing you need ? It could be I have lots of them ? If there the same I could post them in exchange for the cost in the post.

Missing one of the oblong things in the top-left hand corner:
