So the insurance company have been very good and are promising to pay out (cheque is in the mail) the entire price of the bike/mudguards/rack/lock/helmet that I submitted - minus the £59 excess for insurance.

This means, it's nearly time to hand back TYG (The Yellow Godsend) of Dellzeq's that I've been riding for the last 8 weeks, and pop down the local LBS (or four) to try on new bikes.

Turns out, I'm odd. I have unfeasibly long legs ("try tha--oh...flat on the floor again...") and yet a normal torso. Having finally convinced the LBSBoy that we needed to find a bike that fit me (that vice versa was out of the question) we settled on this.

Well, admittedly - that was just for the test ride. And oh my goodness, what a ride. I took it out for the maximum time, it was heaven on two wheels. I'm unaccustomed to being the recipient of so much ogling, as well - I had to be quick off the mark at traffic lights in case someone knocked me off and cycled off with something costing that much. Also, even in 25mins or so, down around Bishopsgate, I had attained that holy grail (for me, anyway) of cycling along without really noticing that my legs were doing anything - does that make sense to anyone else?

Anyhoo - apparently that was the only bike on the floor in my size (really? really Mr LBS person? Are you sure you're not just trying to set me up to feel a failure on a normal bike now?) and so they've ordered me in one of these instead.

Anyone got one? Thoughts? Yes, it reviews quite well, but I'd like some cyclechat style feedback please.

P.S. Last bike was a brilliant Trek 7.5fx wsd. I loved it, but wonder if it might be worthwhile getting a roadie....?

I have a similar problem i have normal legs but a short torso so i end up using a short flipped stem all the time to get a nice fit.

Bloke at work has a trek 1.2 and raves about it.

Yes, I know that feeling- get it from the Viner, only slightly less from the Condor. The weight & the lower drag does that! Like the idea that only a Madone would fit you...Friend of mine is of similar height & long legs/shorter torso build, standard bikes can be made to fit her OK!
Becs seems very happy with her Trek (2.3), sure the 1.2's a good 'un too.
