I fell off yesterday and I'm 80% sure I can't fix my damaged kit but I thought I'd ask here anyway as I'm not that knowledgable with textiles beyond the odd bit of crummy stitching.

It's sort of been rubbed thin by the road as opposed to ripped and this leads me to think it's not a simple or possible job to 'fully repair'.

Thanks.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Bin em ,cycling kit tends to look crack around the repair due to the stretchy fabric.

I believe a serger, with a zig-zag stitch, should be able to repair this with a like piece of lycra. Try taking them to a professional alterations person, if no one in family can do this.

I tend to buy kit from the lower end of the price range...if I have an off then it just goes in the bin and I buy another!

I have a few bits of kit which have been repaired using fabric glue and a piece of Lycra I got cheap of Ebay.
They don't look the best, but they are still going one year latter.

I've used stuff designed to patch neoprene wetsuits. Cut out a patch, apply to the hole and apply some release paper and a hot iron (on lycra this requires considerable caution- I practiced on some legwarmers I was going to throw out), I've patched some tights and some shorts this way. It's called Iron Mend, I think it only comes in black.
