I've 'lost' a nipple in a rim. I've spent far too long shaking, rotating and generally jiggling the wheel around trying to coax the nipple out. Any top tips on how to retrieve it?

the only way is the way you tried - sooner or later it will be close to one of the drilled holes or the hole for the valve - then use twezers or a piece of wire to get it out. you could try drilling the valve hole to be larger but not as far as the inner rim - assuming you rimis box section

Depends on the material the nipple is made of. If ferrous, you can use a magnet, which will work even tho' the ally rim comes between nipple and magnet. Drag the nipple around to the valve hole with it.

Had the same problem a few weeks back. I spent ages shake, rattling and rolling the wheel to no avail. Gave it to the wife and she sorted it in about 30 seconds! Typical!
