Get a flat bladed screwdriver under the edge and insert the tube from a gap of GT85 under the gap and give it a squirt. With some work and wiggling it should come off.

Clean them thoroughly and use a squirt of hair spray to lube it back on.

One of the few times the long squirty nozzle on the WD40 can comes in useful.
Get it down as far as you can between grip and handlebar - quick squirt.
repeat at 180 deg around the bar.
should be possible to rotate the grip now and gently ease it off.

Long 4mm Allan key, water. Stick it in, lift it up, squirt in some water, roll it around, peel it off.

But the best way by far (like 20 metres) is a compessor with an air jet attachment!

Dunno about all the fuss: I removed handlebar grips by twisting them outwards using plumber's pliers :girl:

Thats dead right Pete, and we don't even need to read the instruction manual either. ^_^
Nobody nowadays can read an instruction manual!
They have all been translated into English from Chinese by a Slovenian ESOL student
(no insult intended to folks of China and Slovenia ;) )

I used to squirt brake cleaner in between, it slips them off and on easily, and more importantly it evaporates completely so they don't twist when riding

This was my version of choice
