Has anybody out there ever come across one of these and managed to get it off the hub. No luck googling so far and no obvious place to use a removal to so I suspect it unscrews like a cassette maybe ??

Does it look like this one?

If so, you need a remover that goes into the slots.

No Doc, no holes at all, noting to secure any kind of removal tool to. I've been mulling it over and could secure the sprocket by wrapping a 1/4 chain round the largest sprocket gripping the chain ends in the vice, then fabricate a chainwhip using a bit of 1/4 chain to turn the smaller sprocket but I've yet to be convinced that that's how it comes apart. I don't want to damage it cos I want to use it at again ( I think there's not too many about as its 1930's I think) Hammer and screwdriver might be a last resort but holding the bloody thing even using my idea above will be tricky. The hub flange is a about 2" bigger than the largest sprocket so I cant hold it directly in the vice jaws
