Removing a BB71 bottom bracket

Hi all,

Mrs SG's Lapierre road bike requires a new bottom bracket (SM-BB71-41B) due to a lot of creaking on the existing one.

i bought the part and tried removing the old one today using Park Tool BB90.3 and a decent sized hammer but it would not budge. Any ideas on how best to brace the frame safely in order to focus the effort in the correct location? She'd kill me if I damaged the frame!

Get Mrs Sg to hold the frame whilst you welly away with the hammer. If the frame slips it's her fault. Simples.
