Has anyone used the seller tokata3620 on eBay? He sells refurbished garmins and they go for really low prices. I'm after an 800 edge but I'm dubious about the prices they go for. Has generally good feedback but if anyone has had any experience with the seller and his items it'd ease my mind.

Who's refurbished them?

If its Garmin themselves then it will probably be ok and long as its a genuine seller

If it's the guy himself who has refurbished them then I personally wouldn't touch with a barge pole

Maps aren't a problem I can stick open-source ones in. I'll check whether they are factory or seller refurbished. He offers returns to a London office and 2 year warranty.

Mine just arrived (from same seller), have yet to take it out but looks good as new, there is one dead pixel (no big deal considering £140 price tag)... guess that's why it was a factory return.

Bear in mind that you need to add around 20% to the price of the unit and postage as a VAT charge and a £10 administration fee from Customs and the saving is not that great. He might well be a bona fide vendor but the prices are not particularly keen especially when the import taxes and collection fees are added.

I bought a new Etrex20 in the UK for £60 less than it would cost me to buy from tokata3620 even ignoring import duties.
