Am riding the raid pyreneen in sept over five consecutive days was wondering if any body
Had any tips on recovery apart from massage and eating recovery drinks straight away.
My main worry is after doing a 100mile ride the next day my legs are really heavy and powerless
Even though I know I will be doing the raid at a slower pace than a100 mile thrash.
regards training would doing steady consecutive long rides be an advantage?

Don't switch off when you end each day's ride. Cool down, stretch and keep moving during the evening.

Stretch and loosen in the morning before looking at the bike.

I commute around 15mile a day I only get out one or two at max evenings due to looking after little one and then a long ride at the weekend.
Am guessing I will need to step up to consecutive long rides over the weekend?
what got me thinking was I did a 150 mile sportive and the next day my legs were wrecked saying that we did do over 18mph average
and I know that the raid will be done at a lot slower pace!
thanks for the interest

Green tea mops up the free radicals you generate with hard exercise, so it might help? Might be totally irrelevant, I rarely do consecutive hard days.
We have started drinking it, anyways!

I have just finished lejog where I did 8 consecutive days of 100 miles plus, all I had after the ride was rice pudding, bottle of coke and a banana. My legs were fine the next day.
I'm sure you will be fine.

Your body needs carbs and protein to recover. Make sure to consume some within an hour or so of finishing, and some more before bed (more carbs than protein after the ride, and more protein than carbs before bed).
