Hi

Anyone got any recommendations or tips for a road saddle? I'm looking for something for long distance. Also, anyone know of any good saddle fit centres any where near Peterborough?!

I realise the "which saddle" question is dependant on specific rider size/shape etc, just interested to hear people's views on different makes/models, what features to look for etc. Thinking of a budget up to around £100.

Cheers

I've had an original (shape/style) Selle-Italia 'Flite' on 2 different bikes for the past 19 years, & it's still my favourite saddle.
Comfy too, even for all day rides

Fizik Arione wingflex is a good saddle. Nice and long so you can move position on it fore and aft, fairly firm. Favoured by a lot of pros. I have found mine comfier than my Selle slr xp or my Charge Spoon over any reasonable distance.

...and just to show the differences, I like the charge spoon (or Madison flux which is the same saddle) and find them comfortable even on longer audaxes.

For LONG rides I used a Brooks B17. Looks odd on a carbon road bike though. For more normal road riding (up to about 200km) my saddle of choice is the Charge Knife. I find it much more comfortable than the Spoon. FWIW I tried a Selle Italia Flite, but just didn't get on with it.

Just about but I'm 6' tall with an arm span of 6' 7" so I figure if I had non-freak length arms my answer would be no :-)

ok if that flexible then fizik arione due to narrow shape measure your sit bones, the option next is the antares

Was reading a piece with some quotes from a guy from Fizik and he said the Arione was for the more flexible riders, Antares for average flexibility then Aliante for least flexible.

Yeah hence my absurd question of can you do touch your toes?
