Any Campag 9 speed chain or a KMC one will do

Upgrade to Veloce.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Any 9 speed chain - KMC for me. Cassette? Any Campag or Campag compatible - I use a Miche with Veloce mechs and chainset. You don't have to stick with the original groupset as long as everything is compatible.

Barnet,
As said before, KMC chains are good, and cheaper than a Campag one. A Veloce 9 speed cassette will fit perfectly.

Any Campagnolo 9 speed cassette will work. The more you pay the lighter they get - but the top models can be less hard wearing.

Any 9 speed Campagnolo compatible chain will do - but personally I'd stick with either the Campagnolo C9 chain or a £15-£20 KMC model.

cool, cheers guys.
what about ratios, is that personal preference that i wouldn't notice much at the moment?
12-23 seems to spring to mind.

Personal choice - if you are happy with 12-23 then fine. I'd stand no chance round here as it is a bit hilly - but I'm not that cycling fit either. I'm sure there are plenty of folk who dance up the hills on a 23! Lot of folk go for a 25 to give them a bit in hand for hills.

cheers
