Title quite obvious, can anybody recommend a set of decent tyre levers for a road bike on 23s. I've a couple of sets of plastic ones, one set out of a recently bought cheap repair kit - and it shows, the tips are bent and dented. The other set I got with a seat bag about 13 years ago, these seem much better quality but another set would be handy.

I bow down to other members superior knowledge on all things even slightly technical, like levers.

As a slight alternative I'd recommend the tyre levers on the side of the Topeak Alien II multi tool, they've got every tyre I've tried to get off successfully including tyres that have broke other levers or mates tyres which wouldn't come off with their levers.

Surprised no-one's mentioned Fat spanner XLs, apparently there's nothing better on the market.

Metal tyre levers are less likely to break but more likely to wreck your inner tubes/tyres/rims. Some tyre/rim combinations give far more problems than others, if you find you are having major problems get another type of tyre when you replace the tyre. It is not worth the hassle of having to struggle. Tyre levers should in any case only be used to remove tyres not to fit them. If I (female and not in my first or indeed any kind of youth) can do it, you ought to be able to. When the weather is bad it is worth practicing fitting and removing tyres.
