Recommend mudguards for MTB

For my ancient commuterized Trek 4300 hardtail, fitted with 26 x 1.5 road tyres, and that will go underneath the rack at the back. I realize there may well be some fiddling about/bodging to get any given type to fit, but I don't mind this so long as they don't flap about and rub on the tyres.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Something like this would do, just check the size (you need to decide if you want to go for small 1.5 ones or bigger ones in case you use bigger tyres).
SKS Bluemels Trekking 53mm Matt Black Mudguards

I can't remember which one I use on my ancient hardtail (1990!), I will check my bike when at home.

SKS chomoplastics should do it, I've just got a feeling from a quick rummage tho the 26 guards are only available in the fatter sizes (you may well be able to bodge a 700 one on tho, I'm not sure - I spent yesterday bodging a 26 guard on a 700 wheel).

When I bought mine they had some smaller sizes, but I am not sure now. The SKS are ok, I have to fix them a few times, all the rivet arrangements (the fixing of the metal support onto the mudguards) broke (after 4 or 5 years), but easily fixed .
Good luck.
