Recommend me a (cheap) turbo trainer

Well, recommend one for a friend, actually... I haven't bought one for years (preferring cycling to self-improvement these days ), so I don't know. It is to be used to help rehabilitate a knee after a forthcoming operation (with medical approval).

Features required:
simple, reliable
reasonably quiet (so probably magnetic resistance)
folding
able to be used with a mountain bike sized wheel (I know a slick tyre will be needed)

Budget: £100 maximum

I bought mine from SJS on ebay. Quite similiar to this one. Undoubtedly it's not as good as the better makes but mine adjusted to take mtn bike and road bike and I've probably done about 30 hours on it with no problems.

There's not many on at the mo but I got mine for about 56 with postage.

I bought my Elite Volare mag trainer off Gumtree in the spring and it's been fine. £30 or thereabouts.

Would recommend having a look at local Gumtree, Freecycle, fleebay etc. There are often quite a few going cheeap.
