I'm a bit of a tosser when it comes to problems on my bike.

I usually give it to someone and ask, "How much?"

Rather than whimp-out I fancy having a go a Tinkering around with my bike.

I can be practical minded - I'm a Plasterer by trade.

So where should I go to gain some knowledge?

Is there a website I could look at and print off or can anyone recommend a book for me to get?

Also can you recommend me a workstand please.

Book: Illustrated Bicycle Maintenance by Todd Downs. Published by Rodale.
ISBN 1-4050-8788-9. Don't know the price here but I paid 24.95 euros in Cork.

I've got a few books, ZiN and the art of bicycle maintenance is pretty good. But the best and most up to date resource possible is at your fingertips (hint - Internet).

Try this for starters - http://bicycletutor.com/
